Letter of Recommendation for

Kirill Osenkov

I have known Kirill Osenkov since September 2000. He was an active participant at the engineering graphics and CAD seminar, which I organized for our students. We discussed different approaches to design and development of three-dimensional engineering graphics environments.

I liked Kirill's ideas and was impressed by his experience in dynamic geometry – a relating branch of computer graphics. He formulated an interesting theoretical approach to application of dynamic geometry concepts in CAD. This shows his ability to see analogies with his experience and apply existing knowledge, models and solutions to deal with new problems. I also noticed that Kirill has a very clear understanding of object-oriented design ideas and methodology, as well as COM ideology. When later I was reading a special course on design principles in symbolic mathematics, this Kirill's quality worked well along with his researcher's curiosity and ability to see analogies.

Later on, we have met with Kirill in several probjects and seminars both at Kharkiv National University and Kharkiv State Pedagogical University. Everywhere I heard references of him as 'responsible and reliable specialist, always managing to output quality job before the deadline'.

Besides all this, Kirill turned out to be an interesting personality, easy to talk to and educated. We had a chance to communicate when I guided Kharkiv students to Ecosoft-2002 in Kyiv. It was a contest of software developed by Ukrainian students, and Kirill was among nine representatives from Kharkiv. It was a wonderful team and Kirill was its' adequate member. The most striking feature I had noticed there was Kirill's constant urge to study and learn more, struggle to improve and extend his knowledge. I'm sure that Kirill will continue "learning", in some sense, for the rest of his life. This will greatly help him in his future study and work, and I would like to give my best recommendations for Kirill in both of these directions.
